This is a marvelous black-and-white photo. I think the woman is helping someone with directions. She may be elderly, but I think she is also very confident.
I so want to see the rest of the shot. There's a great story there. I also love how a patch of the repaired pavement seems to play off the pattern of her dress. Wonderful shot.

I'm always amazed to see women in dresses. This grandmother, I suppose, has probably been wearing dresses all her life. Maybe she's waiting for the bus.
